Alfred L. Griggs’ Ambassador Award Description

On November 1, 2013, Mr. Alfred L. Griggs received the inaugural award in recognition of his magnificent contributions to Dartmouth-Hitchcock and the community. Mr. Griggs became chair of the group in 2006 and served on the Executive Committee and later as co-chair of the Transforming Medicine Campaign, which raised more than $250 million. His commitment to Dartmouth-Hitchcock began in 1994 when he joined the Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees and went on to chair the board for six years.

The PCW Alfred L. Griggs’ Ambassador Award winners believe in their community’s ability to sustain a healthy population. They have made a commitment to be a part of Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s global health solution by promoting wellness at every level of their community. They give their time, talents, philanthropic support, or any combination thereof, in support of this endeavor. As innovative thinkers, they understand the need to prioritize health and wellness in their towns and cities. They imagine a future where a healthy population is not just the dream of a few, but an achievable goal for all.
