A dedicated philanthropist, health care advocate and civic leader, Jane has spent more than two decades creating and supporting numerous institutions focused on improving the lives of children, their families and the communities in which they live.
An active member of the Assembly of Overseers for Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) since 1998, Jane has also served on the DHMC Community Advisory Board, a strategic planning group charged with promoting long term community health.
Following the chronic illness of one of her children, Mrs. Stetson co-founded the William E. Boyle Community Pediatrics Program, an innovative program whose mission is to train pediatric residents to practice medicine under a collaborative model, particularly when they are working with families who have a chronically ill child.
Jane has served on the boards of The Mountain School of Milton Academy in Vershire, Vermont and Proctor Academy in Andover, New Hampshire. She served in leadership positions for the Democratic National Committee, U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy, Vermont Governor Howard Dean and Presidential Candidate Barack Obama. She has been a past National Finance Chair to U.S. Congressman Peter Welch and has been honored by the Vermont Democratic Party for her work on behalf of democratic values.
From 2009 to January, 2013, Jane served as National Finance Chair for the Democratic National Committee and as an Officer of the Party. She had an extensive leadership role in the most successful fundraising operation in history, resulting in the re-election of President Barack Obama.
Jane is fluent in French and has studied at the Sorbonne University and the American College in Paris. She, and her husband Bill, have resided in Norwich, Vermont since 1988 and recently in Washington, DC. They have three daughters, Nancy, Katharine and Grace.
